Welcome to Hexbound

Hey there!

I’m excited to finally share a behind-the-scenes look at my latest project: Hexbound – a cozy, slightly strange hexagon-based puzzle game that’s been brewing quietly in the background.

Imagine this: you’re sitting at a warm wooden table in a comfy living room. Outside, the world is quiet. In front of you is a puzzle board made entirely of hexagonal tiles – and your task? To complete patterns, solve image puzzles, and sometimes even carve out winding paths across the board.

But Hexbound isn’t just another puzzle game. Here’s what makes it a little different:

A Game of Hexes and Shapes

At its core, Hexbound offers a variety of puzzle types to keep things fresh:

  • Classic boards with satisfying geometric challenges

  • Custom-shaped puzzles, like animal faces (yes, they’re weirdly cute)

  • Image-based puzzles, where pieces form a full illustration

Some boards add a new twist — you won’t just be matching shapes, but connecting paths from one end to the other. Like a maze… but prettier.

Time Isn’t Just a Mechanic, It’s Furniture (Full Release)

There’s no traditional game UI here. Instead, time is shown in-world on a digital clock placed right on the table. When a timed challenge begins, you’ll know it — the clock lights up, and the pressure’s on. It feels immersive, almost like you're really there, solving puzzles while sipping tea.

Playful, Cozy, a Little Strange

The pieces themselves have a touch of personality. When you pick them up, they squish and deform slightly — not for realism, but to add a tactile weirdness that makes the whole thing more fun. This isn't a sterile puzzle simulator; it's meant to feel alive, personal, and just a little offbeat.

What’s Next?

The demo for Hexbound is already out, and the response so far has been incredibly encouraging. Thank you to everyone who's played it, shared feedback, or just spent a few cozy minutes puzzling at the table.

Now, I’m shifting focus to the full game. That means more puzzle boards (and more variety), expanded mechanics, and a few surprises that build on the strange, tactile world of Hexbound. The foundation is there — now it’s time to go deeper.

Stay tuned for updates here and on social media. If you haven’t already, grab the demo on Steam, wishlist the game, and feel free to reach out if you want to chat puzzles, game dev, or squishy hexes.

Also, a big thanks to Gamesardor.net for featuring Hexbound in their Top 20 Steam Games in April — check it out for more great picks!

Thanks for being part of the journey.
